The Cultural and Folklore Association of Dafni "Taxideutes Politismou" was founded in 2011 from a group of friends who wanted to give society their own suggestions regarding the crisis of our time. From the very first day of operation, with selflessness and always promoting the ideal of "We" instead of "Me", we have found many companions to the path initially mapped.

Thanks to the collective efforts of the members and friends of our community eight workshops are already operating with people of all ages: Traditional Dancing, Traditional Singing, Traditional Weaving, Percussion Instruments, Clarinet, Photography, Children's Theater and Kindermusik. With the help of its members and without deviating from its principles, our Association hopes to further enrich its activities with new workshops and more actions, focusing on people and the neighbourhood. Our Association is not being financially supported by anyone else except for its members and workshops participants. In a society that has neglected the value of man, our response is "act together"!

“Arriving there is what you are destined for.

But do not hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you are old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you have gained on the way”

The Christmas days are days of joy, love and tenderness. Our Association will stand by to the children of the Juvenile Centre of Piraeus "The Good Shepherd" in order to accompany with traditional dances and songs their Christmas celebration. The Centre hosts abused and neglected children, aged 5 to 16 years, aiming to offer them psychological support and social reintegration.

On Wednesday, 12/18/2013 at 7:00 pm we invite you to the centre’s facilities (12 Mavrogenous Str., Piraeus) to show our love and give joy to these children who really need it. Admission is free for everyone.
